I am a super cautious person and a scientist, so I won’t say anything that could cause a misunderstanding. But your GP did not put you on the 2 week pathway. If they had reason to think this was cancer they would have done that. Absolutely. So that is very good news!

The fact that you have had a similar experience in the past is also interesting. I would think this is a small point in your favour.

I trust my GP hugely for the most part, and she says that cancer lumps are not tender (some of my lumps have been tender). The expert websites mostly say this also. But on the patient forums a number of women say their tumours were tender or painful, so I think it is safest to ignore all statements about whether or not cancerous tumours can be tender/painful.

All in all, I am genuinely optimistic for you. Yes, anything could still happen but I think you have very good odds. Again, please keep us informed and very best wishes

Scan tomorrow petrified and to make things worse I nearly lost my little boy on Christmas Eve he went blue and like a ghost due to tonsillitis high temp of 40 he was due to have them out a couple of weeks ago but got tonsillitis again so had to cancel, he's complex/ special needs non verbal etc, I'm going to push to have his op brought forward once he's better. I just hope for my children's sake I'm going to be ok xx

I know you are and I was too. But not too long now. Can you distract yourself? Eat some Christmas treats?

I'm not in the Christmas mood don't know if u seen my message on this thread about nearly losing my son on Christmas night. I'm just going to try and keep calm xx

I did see it but only just now. I felt so awful for you that I did not know what to say. All I meant about the food is that carbs are calming.

poetryandwine · 28/12/2022 10:45

How is your DS now?

That's ok, and I'm trying my best not to eat many carbs cos of my diabetes. I'm going to have something to eat soon. Just so thankful my baby is ok xx

Me too was the scariest thing. We have bought an owlet monitor that monitors his breathing and heart rate while he sleeps and a head scan thermometer as he doesn't like the ear ones with him being sensory with his complex/ special needs xx
