Has anyone had this done please? Did it show e.g. adhesions from previous surgery? Was it a difficult test? Thanks

I've had it done. No previous surgery so can't answer that. I found the contrast I had to drink gave me diarrhoea but my condition does anyway. The worst part for me was them getting a cannula in as I have bad veins. Good luck.

Oh I also have the veins problem I understand! I had another similar kind of scan called CT enteroclysis in the past. For that they stick liquid thoruhg an NG tube into the small bowel, at the same kind as the IV contrast. It was pretty unpleasant. They check on an X ray the tube is in the correct place.

With me they then struggled with the veins and ended up not being able to do the IV contast and the scan failed to pick up adhesions which were there at surgery- so I'm a little wary about this one..

Do you mean a small bowel mri with dye/contrast?
I had one in Sept. The contrast gave me diarrhoea for 3 days 🤦‍♀️ apart from that it was fine. Make sure you go to loo just before the mri - you’ll probably have some cramps while it’s going on but they said it was normal.
I have had previous abdo surgery but my results were normal.

I am wondering whether it is worth it. It's expensive, £1400 on my insurance and I have a limit for scans/ tests. I'm not even sure it will show up adhesions.
