Do sore throats make you nauseous?

Asking out of curiosity. Whenever I have a sore throat (as part of a cold or flu), I always get nauseous or a feeling similar to hunger and I burp more than usual too. I have always had this with a sore throat so it's just normal for me, but nobody else that I've asked seems to get it? I've Googled before too but can't find any answers. One site suggested it is due to inflamed adenoids but I had those, as well as my tonsils, taken out as a child. I have a sore throat today so I have the nausea too!

You're swallowing the excess mucus from your sinuses, which is upsetting your stomach and irritating your throat.

I have a sore throat today and don't feel nauseous now or with previous sore throats. I had a coughing/gagging episode after doing the covid throat swab this morning though- and did feel nauseous then.

I agree that its an irritated throat and stomach causing it.

Cold/sinus medicine makes me nauseous , could it be that?

I actually don’t burp so I tend to get really bloated. Whenever I get a sore throat I notice that I get way more bloated than usual and I can hear the trapped air moving up and down my oesophagus lol and i think that makes me feel nauseous. It was triple worse when I was pregnant with a sore throat/cold!
