Clothes post shoulder surgery

Hi,

Does anyone have any easy dressing tips for post shoulder surgery? I am wondering how I will be able to get dressed with one functioning arm. I have ordered an oversize zip up dressing gown - so may have to live in that for while!

Thanks

Bumping as I have the same question.

It won’t be easy, but it is doable, although I found everything took me a lot longer after my shoulder surgery earlier this year! Must admit I was also very grateful for DH’s help, especially at first while I worked out what I could or couldn’t do on my own, so I hope you have someone who can help too.

At first I found it best to stick to easy to pull on trousers (joggers) plus anything that was front fastening such as a loose, oversize blouse. Also loose draping cardigans that I could put my good arm in and wrap around my other shoulder. I didn’t even try to wear a bra at first, just a vest for warmth and comfort, but later could manage a soft stretchy one that I could step into and pull all the way up!

Good luck, I hope the surgery goes well.

I had a shoulder op and just wore my husband's shirts or very wide necked t shirts for a bit.

Was not a drama at all. Actually I just remembered I had two shoulder ops. It's fine.

A wool poncho for going out. Much easier than a coat.
