Anyone been referred to Specsavers for an NHS Hearing aid?

I have a frequency loss in my left ear and tinnitus. It's been there a few years but I've recently realised how much I have been relying on lip reading when I went on holiday and struggled to understand what people were saying to me.
I have major problems where there is background noise, I can't filter voices from music or chatter etc. All sadly self inflicted from years of very loud music and standing in front of amps at gigs.

My GP has today referred me to Specsavers who apparently deal with NHS Hearing aids in our area. What can I expect please?

Thanks all

They do audiology for NHS in some places. My friend just got hearing aids from them that way.
There's a long thread on hearing loss, you might find some useful tips on there.
I got mine from hospital audiology but the choice is supposed to be the same.
