Rectal bleeding after poo - 5 weeks after c-section

I gave birth 5 weeks ago via c-section and recovery has been smooth. Since the last 2 days though, I’ve had bleeding from the bum every time I have a poo. It feels really sore as if there’s a cut back there, or something like that. It feels like there’s a cut or it’s burning and when I wipe after a bowel movement there’s some bleeding. Not too much or too little. Just some bleeding after wiping twice, after that there’s just spotting. It doesn’t seem like anything serious tbh, but should I be worried as this has never happened before? It really does feel like there’s a cut back there as I was a little constipated last week. Should I get an appointment with the GP? Does this sound like piles? It’s literally burning after going to the toilet. And the bleeding is only there when I have a poo.

Get it checked out. It might be an anal fissure (tear) or piles but I'm not medical. Congrats on new baby 💐

As above it sounds exactly like an anal fissure or hemorrhoids. you may just need a stool softener like Lactulose (which you can buy over the counter ) for a few weeks. See a Gp for reassurance.

Is lactulose okay to take while breastfeeding?

I had this after my first baby, however it was really painful when I was going to the toilet so I new there had to be a cut. It's likely as above, anal fissure or hemorrhoid. There are over the counter creams you can get for this, and prescribed ones too. Your GP will actually be able to do a quick check and confirm that this is what it is first. I do remember reading if it becomes very uncomfortable to sit i. Warm water for 10mins daily and increase fibre in your diet. Both of these I found helped.
