Last week I started to notice a horrid pain in the middle of my lower back. I took a hot water bottle with me everywhere. Walking is ok usually but sitting or transitioning from sitting to standing & vice versa is agonising. I can't bend, I can't tilt. I feel like the middle of my back is a bar of metal. After a couple of days it subsided a little, I went about my days as normal which includes lifting a chunky toddler & it's now back, worse than ever. No numbness but tingling pains going down the sides & backs of my hips, also the sides of my legs. I'm seeing an Osteopath on Wednesday. I've spent all day just laid on the sofa. I've not experienced anything like this before. I'm alternating between hot & cold compresses. Does this sound like a trapped nerve or just bad back pain?
