Hi. After experiencing rapid weight loss and fatigue I've had blood tests done- and I'm now off for a chest X-ray and an urgent cancer referral. (Within the next 2 weeks)
Please does anybody know the process of this referral? Would it be blood tests? Scans? I'm really really nervous. Thank you.

Sorry you're going through this and the uncertainty of a wait. It sounds as though your GP has teed up some basic tests and the results will hopefully be available for your appointment, but don't expect an instant diagnosis. You may well need some more investigations to find out what is going on, but don't panic. There are other reasons for weight loss and tiredness, it isn't necessarily cancer. Try to be kind to yourself while you are waiting for answers - rest up, eat all your favourite foods and accept any offers of help from friends and family.

As the above post. At the appointment they will look at your results (blood tests) and ask you some questions. Then go from there. Sometimes they hold a MDT or Multi Disciplinary Team meeting after your appointment to decide on how best to proceed. Its useful to take someone with you or at the very least take a small notebook and pen to write down any information as its often hard to remember everything said during the appointment. Take care x
