Just that really. I have a fever and paracetamol isn't shifting it. Also have bad nausea and feeling awful.

Just to add, fever came on very sudden out of nowhere. I had eye surgery 12 and I'm using NSAID eye drops so can't take ibuprofen I don't think.

I'd call 111 especially after recent surgery. Just to get some advice as I'd be concerned about sepsis or something

a fever is the body's mechanism of healing itself. generally you should allow fever and let your body do it's thing. if you feel like shit it's fine to take paracetamol or ibuprofen to relieve symptoms.

how high is your temperature?

Coffeesnob11 · 24/11/2022 14:15

I would ring 111 for advice, they may at least get you a telephone appointment with a doctor. Have you rung where you had the surgery done and mentioned it to them?

sorry, didn't read your post about the operation before posting.
better to call your gp and mention the surgery.

I'm glad you're being looked after

Home or in que waiting, drink fluids. Little frequent sips (yes despite the nausea) will help reduce fever, warm showers also help (not hot, not cold) basically same stuff you do with children (which includes seeing a Dr if it persists).
