Long spotting after period?

Since I've had my second child, I have very heavy periods, 1-2 days of spotting before, then very heavy period for about 3-4 days, it then goes down to minimal spotting but it lasts another 4-5 days, sometimes I am spotting up until ovulation and then nothing until my period returns but it seems awfully long. I probably should see a GP. I did around 8 months ago, the was prescribed a drug for the heavy bleeding and had an internal scan but nothing abnormal was found. I had my smear about 10 months ago and nothing was found.

Anyone advice?

I'm 32 years old.

P.S. my child is 18 months now. My period returned about a year ago, so around 6 months after he was born.

I have had this after the birth of my second child too, so for 3 years now. I have my period as normal then spot till ovulation then all is good till my period starts again. I've now seen numerous drs and had ultrasounds no one seems concerned except me. Last year on my last ultrasound they said they saw something that looks like adenymosis but I'm waiting on seeing a gynaecologist to confirm this. After some research it appears this can be common after a csection not sure if you had one of those?

I did have a c section. Good to know I'm not alone. It's been 18 months since my son was born.

Hi, I’ve just stumbled across this and wondered if any of you had an update? I’m experiencing the same thing after c section and want to start ttc again but worried it will have an impact on conceiving ? X

@Elle4821 hi Elle, I had another child inbetween which sadly died at birth but I had periods for 4 months since and I spot again for some time. I had it until I fell pregnant again, then also had an ultrasound and everything looked good. I had a c section 6 months ago and apparently they looked around and it all looked healthy. It's a strange one but I do think all is ok ❤️ if you are worried, speak to your GP though xx

I have this every other month. Went to gp and I am perimenopausal! I am only 34!
