Trying to call nhs24 tonight for chest pains ( think I have a chest infection) it won’t ring or anything. As soon as I call it cuts off and hangs up straight away. Anyone else in Scotland having this issue and can’t get through?

Not in Scotland OP but I hope you managed to get through to someone x

ScottishPerson · 01/12/2022 04:03

Don't waste your time. They won't be giving any medical advice
Even if you do get through eventually and you do need medical advice.
YOU WILL NOT GET ANY MEDICAL ADVICE
Hope it is not life threatening. If so, then phone 999 and make your last will and testament.
They won't even tell you if your condition is 999.
They will tell you that if it gets any worse phone 999.
Hope you can make this phone call when your dead.

Very pleased to hear that your child is OK
NHS24 has been a medical failure from formation.
80% of GP's want nothing to do with it. There is no Out Of Hours service.
Call handlers and ambulance controllers have no medical qualifications.
The Senior Charge Nurses are qualified and have registration PIN numbers .
There own professional body is openly critical about NHS24 employing
medically unqualified people as call handlers.
Ambulance crews are not allowed to to give medical advice or put in
doors even in life threatening situations .
The call handlers and ambulance controllers work in the same office.
There are not enough SCN's to cope with the volume of cases referred to them.
They are so under pressure to cut back on A&E referrals that they will often compromise their professional integrity by brushing you off without
direct contact or medical advice. This is causing preventable deaths. You have to be your own doctor. So make good use of Google.
