Peri menopause?

I’m late 30s, have had irregular cycles most of my life. They seem to gradually be getting longer in length. I’m tracking on an app and over the past year have increased in length by 4-5 days. Last cycle was 40 days.

Then, when period arrived, it was non existent - a tiny bit of discharge but not the full heavy periods I’m used to.

My moods are extremes the week before I come on (if you can call it that now) and it’s starting to impact my family life.

Im not on any hormonal contraception at all.

Would you see the GP? I feel like it’s too early for peri menopause but somethings changing, with longer cycles, blink and you miss them periods and extreme low moods.

I wonder if going on a pill again might help?

Any advice welcome!

Joining this thread because I’m going through something similar. Not sure whether to go to GP or not

Sorry to hear you’re also experiencing similar, google isn’t my friend!

I managed to get a GP appointment this week and am going to have blood tests and an ultrasound. She said it did sound like early menopause but also could be PCOS. So time will tell I guess?

I think it’s the start for you, I remember seeing the GP about my monthly rages at about your age. All I was offered at that stage was a low dose antidepressant for a week or two before my period. I didn’t take it.
I eventually had a Mirena coil due to heavy frequent periods, and a happy side effect was a reducing my rages.

You could also try posting on the Menopause part of the site for more specific advice.
