Hello, and thank you to anyone who takes the time to read this.

I was hoping for a bit of advice.

I had a recurrent uti a few weeks back and was prescribed cipro 250mg BD for five days. I finished the course but I am now a bit worried, asI tested positive today. I am now worried as cipro is not to be prescribed during pregnancy.

My cycle is very regular and is every 28 days. Which would put my ovulation date at around the 3rd of Nov. For reference I took the antibiotics on the 13th of Nov.
I am not too sure if any damage is possible this early on?
U
I am trying to not overthink, I will book a doctors appointment for this week. Until then I was hoping for some words of reassurance (if possible). Or to hear from people who have also taken or known of someone to of taken cipro in early pregnancy.

Thank you again.

Hi Mossop01

i hope you’re well.
I have just joined because I found out I tested positive for pregnancy last Friday. It was a big shock because I did an early detection test and was negative.

I had a UTI and was prescribed Nitrofurantoin and then Ciprofloxacin because nitro wasn’t quite clearing it up. Because I thought I was negative the dr prescribed something stronger.

I am in the same position as yourself I am very worried and scared after taking the Cipro. I found out two days after taking the cipro I was pregnant. I took 4 500mg tablets in total, so two for two days.

i noticed you didn’t get any replies on this thread but can I ask how you’re doing and hope everything is going okay :)
