Hi all I went to the doctors three weeks ago with a sore throat it was a slight stretching at the back of the throat feeling when mouth is open wide or a big yawn.
docs gave me silent reflux meds? Haven’t taken them
now symptoms are just a random stinging of the throat/tonsil area when i swallow just sometimes maybe 3 / 4 times a day almost like a blister that’s not healed or a bit of salt in an open cut. It’s like a stinging pain best way to describe
any ideas?

Why haven’t you taken the meds? Surely it’s worth a try. Reflux can make your throat sting, the stomach acid can also cause damage. DH suffers horribly and at times has to sleep propped up, even with meds.

Also confused and interested as to why you haven't taken or tried the medicine?
I echo everything PP said above x

If you have silent reflux, you need the medication. Untreated, it can lead to very, very unpleasant outcomes.

I just didn’t want to become reliant on this medication
but I will now take it from tomorrow as a few people
have now said they think it’s reflux

I would have thought that your gp's opinion alone would convince you to take the meds rather than remaining in pain until you get the approval of some randoms on the Internet!

No it’s not just this obviously have spoken to a few other people
when I got the tablets I also had a horrific cold which he said the tablets would fix which made me concerned he had prescribed me the wrong medication

Try the meds out and give them a go. Reflux can turn really nasty and potentially do a lot of damage if not treated with the right medication, so it's better to rule it out than never know. Good luck xx
