There is loads of fabulous advise out there about regularly checking your breasts, which is spot on. What I didn't know was that you could have breast cancer without a lump, bump, leak or dimpling in sight.

The screening mammogram saved my life, it caught it at stage 1, but they even had to put in guide wires before the lumpectomy as the surgeon couldn't see the cancer with his naked eye.

So my message is simple, when you are called up for a screening mammogram, don't put it off, go get them squished. It could save your life.

Same with me. Age 45. Offered it because of family history, although genetic tests have can negative.
7 mm mass. No one could feel it even when they knew where it was. I have large breasts!
I had to have the wire put in under ultrasound guidance before surgery.
Go for your screening!
