hi everyone, im 16 and ive never had a uti before (as far as i remmeber), but im almost certain that i have one right now.

at about 7:30pm on friday i started needing the toilet really bad. once i went it burned after i wiped, but not whilst i was actually peeing. since then, ive been using the toilet increasinly every hour to the point where im now having to get up every 10 minutes because i feel like i need to pee so badly, but very little is coming out and it feels like ACID. it's currently 3:50am, and i cannot sleep because i constantly need to pee. i dont know what to do. ive tried not going to the toilet but it makes it worse, i've tried going every time i feel the urge but that's obviously not helping.

a minute ago i went and peed, got up, wiped and went to walk out. almost immediately i needed to pee again. after that i went back to my room, and as soon as i got there i needed to go AGAIN. i havent gone again yet because im trying to hold off, but it feels like i'm going to actually piss myself. what do i DO

I had this starting at 16, and I had 7 within 18 months it was horrendous.
First one- I slept on the bathroom floor under a towel.
Call 111, you will likely need antibiotics, they can go up to your kidneys (done that, not fun).
And yes, they can come on very quickly my first I went from fine to on bathroom floor within 5 hours.
Don't wait- call.
And keep drinking fluids, as much water as you can it's worse with a dry bladder.

Unfortunately when you get these you're likely gonna be prone to them. Best tips I have- AlWAYS pee after sex, literally immediately don't wait in bed go pee then come back for cuddles. Keep yourself hydrated. Don't hold your pee, if you need to go, go.

And I'm sorry- I hope you can get medication and feel better soon x

And for short term relief (I wasn't sure whether to post this as it's TMI) - I found a quick orgasm in bed helped it ease for a couple hours to get some sleep.
Don't know if it works for everyone but might be worth a shot. Not a solution over antibiotics, definitely call 111

Oh and you won't piss yourself, but it is horrendously uncomfortable.

Definitely sounds like cystitis which is awful, I know. You will need antibiotics so phone 111 to speak to a doctor if your own surgery is closed on a Saturday.
Once you start antibiotics it will clear up very quickly. In the meantime drink lots of water so the wee is less painful coming out as more diluted.

Definitely contact a doctor this weekend if you can. I had a kidney infection in the summer, and it isn't an experience I ever want to repeat!

As others have said, contact 111/ooh gp for some antibiotics, they'll start to help very quickly. In the meantime I find a warm bath often helps with the discomfort. It is awful though

Cranberry juice is a good at home remedy.
