Propranolol (Beta-Blocker) for treatment of migraine

Anyone else been prescribed this? I suffer from frequent migraines (1 a week) and GP has prescibed the above, 40mg twice a day.

There is a family history of migraine maternal grandad, mum, sister and me.

I am a bit dubious, am only 26, already on Citalopram for hormonal depression - I don't wanna be on loads of tablets.

Any advice/experience/suggestions??

i am on these now. they have helped a lot. take them at night as they can make you a bit tired. i take 80mg once a day. i found they were better than ADs cos they slowed everything down and chilled my out a bit.

The sleep thing is worrying - I am already shattered from being on the Citalopram!!
