Nightmare!
Dd who is 7 months were coughing last night, poor old dh. Poor little dd, she has this horrible productice cough that wont stop making her cry and all she wasnt to do is sleep.
Then I am coughing all over the place and shaking the bed.
I have tixylix for dd, benylin for me, strepsils (rubbish) water, lemsip, a pillow under dd's mattress...
Is there anything I haven't thought of that might help. It's awwwwful

Your DD may benefit from one of those vapour mist thingies (eg plastic pot type thing hung over radiator with water in). There's alot of it going around - my DD got v bad cough and one of the others in her nursery group has been diagnosed with bronchiolitis. Hope you and DD feel better soon.

MrsD, dd (25 months) has had this for over a week I'm afraid. She had a fever too at the beginning but then it's just become a cough, always worse when she's lying down. Until last night she's been awake 2 or 3 times a night coughing for up to an hour and getting very upset. One thing we did get towards the end of last week was a warm air humidifier from Argos, about 30 quid. We've been putting it on for about an hour before she goes to bed at night and it does make the air more moist and I think has helped a bit.

Horrible though isn't it? I'm shattered too. A week of virtually no sleep and I've started coughing today too ...

Oh God Medised!!
That's another story. We have tried that. Ended up with distress on both sides so we have to avoid that one!!

Prop up her cot to raise her head (place a few books under the cot legs). I also bought a humidifier which realy helps a persistent cough -my dd suffered terribly from coughs as a baby.

Get a vapouriser - we got a plug in one from Boots - the little pad things last all night & works when our DS (4) has a cough.
Also whilst DS has a bath, we fill the sink up with hot water & put a few drops of Olbas oil in so he can breathe it in before bed time.
Big Hugs !
