I've come home loaded down with anti-emetics in case it makes me ill.

And have a nurse coming round on Monday to show me how to inject myself with stuff to make my blood count higher all next week.

I'm just sitting here waiting to feel sick

Anorak - a v gd friend of mine recently had op then chemo followed by radiation. Chemo was fine (although she did lose her hair but had such a fantastic wig no-one noticed - honestly!) and she only had one bad week on radiation. Not bad for 8 mths of treatment!!

Sending positive thoughts ...

Wishing you the best of outcomes, anorak. No sickness, the all clear, and a beautiful, brand new head of shiny, glossy hair when this is all over

anorak · 30/01/2008 18:47

What lovely cheering messages, thank you all!

No further developments to report, I'm having a lovely lazy day in fact. Looks like I might have escaped the nausea side of it.

Great news laalaa, hope you've got the bubbly out! seb, I did have morning sickness, but it wasn't normally bad enough to actually vomit.

Nice to hear you're getting on well hellobello.

Thanks so much for the link, Issy, will take a look at that in a moment. The sun's shining right now here, I'm so lucky! I might be able to manage that 30 mins a day.

Thanks to those of you mentioning your own experiences, often I have been unaware that you've been where I am. It's a great help to know that so many of you have been though this and all fit and healthy now to tell the tale.

hewlettsdaughter · 30/01/2008 19:05

Glad today has gone ok anorak

dolally · 30/01/2008 19:18

anorak, well done, keep it up! What shines out from your threads is your total lack of self-pity. Not sure I could be so strong. You will be fine I just know it!

Lalaa, so good to hear from you, I remember when you were first diagnosed and I've occasionally looked for news of you. I'm so happy for you! And Anorak will be where you are soon!

Love to you both.

Anorak, don't forget a good dose of the waltons always makes you feel better ;-)

boomie · 31/01/2008 19:55

You are so brave, hope you are feeling OK today. Thinking of you and sending positive vibes

anorak · 01/02/2008 13:16

Feeling a bit rubbish today, like morning sickness. Going to spend the day loungeing, as befits my status

I'm not brave boomie, I didn't have much option about this! Brave is when you deliberately enter a burning building to rescue children.

Very kind of you though!

Going thru anything scary is brave, anorak, options or not!!!!

Sorry you're feeling rubbish today. Sending you loads of positive vibes.

Will check back later.

Frizbe · 01/02/2008 15:52

{{{Hugs}}}} for feeling poorly with it all today Anorak, I keep checking in to see how your doing, but don't often post.

NewYearNewStart · 01/02/2008 17:45

I remember another friend telling me that a few days after chemo she felt like she had a hangover but without the fun.

Sorry to hear that you're feeling bad and do make sure you lounge as much as you want to and are able!

Thinking of you lots xxx

CantSleepWontSleep · 02/02/2008 21:22

Oh I'm sorry to hear that you were feeling rough yesterday Anorak, just when you thought you had escaped it.

How are you doing today?

Piffle · 02/02/2008 21:24

Sorry it's making you feel ill, nothing but total amazement at your attitude and approach, you're lovely and I hope it's not too bad.
Are you getting treats and being waited on hand and foot?

anorak · 02/02/2008 22:50

Had a couple of days of feeling rough, have been quite without compuction in lying on the sofa watching tv, reading, and playing computer games. Bought some more anti- emetics and took one this morning, that helped. Still the thought of certain foods makes me want to run...DH has just gone for curry, which I will be able to enjoy now I've had the anti-emetic.

They say your mouth gets sore after a couple of weeks so I am going to have curry while I can!

Really though, it could have been a lot worse, when my cousin had chemo she was sick as a dog.

Just waiting for my hair to fall out now

Hulababy · 02/02/2008 23:00

that the sickness caught up with you. Hope those tablets work to combat it.

Good luck with everything.

hewlettsdaughter · 03/02/2008 16:30

Sorry you felt rough - good that you rested though. Was the curry good?

MrsPhilipGlenister · 03/02/2008 17:19
