Hey mumsnetters! It's been some time since I've posted instead of just lurking and wanted some other peoples experiences regarding this issue if I could.
Found lumps on the right side of my neck felt quite large no pain no problems breathing or any other symptoms other than fatigue, possibly anxiety but I am a stress head anyway with constant anxiety about most things so unsure on that one!
This was the end of June this year.
Saw my GP face to face who was not sure so referred me for bloods and 2ww ultrasound.
Had ultrasound with biopsy very quickly (bloods took a lot longer as have to travel to another health centre further away for those Hmm
Saw consultant following this the end of July, had camera to check vocal chords all seem fine but sizing of lumps meant consultant wanted me to go for another scan for more accurate measurements. Lumps are soft with no concerns ? I guess as they were not very forthcoming with too much information, but we all agreed surgery may be the best outcome due to the size and positioning of the lumps. Consultant advised scan within 2 weeks, appointment with him to discuss within 1 month, surgery within 3 months to estimate.
Had another scan within 3 days of seeing consultant.
In between July-October I've had increasingly bad pain both in my neck and down into my collarbone. I can also feel the lump(s) pressing on my throat constantly but it's worse when I lay down or eat.
Finally had a call from the consultant the beginning of October, he had none of my information to discuss with me could not advise much else other than he would arrange a f2f consultation within 1 month.
Then nothing... I had to chase up via the nurse & the consultants secretaries after receiving a letter to say I had to have another biopsy. Secretary advised to attend this appointment as it had been arranged by the consultant but could not say more. Would once again pass on my concerns re: pain etc...
Attended appointment last week for biopsy, was told there that they were instructed to take from the left side as it was not done previous. Procedure went fine. Now more waiting for my follow up appointment the end of this month.

Wondering if this is similar to anyone else's experience? Or if anyone would just like to share?
Sorry for the long post - did not want to drip feed. Thanks for reading xx

Whoops! Forgot to say after 2 blood tests no concerns at all there! Apparently 1st biopsy indicated an overactive thyroid which is contradictory to my fatigue symptoms (but I do have a toddler and work so!) xx

Hi Lonely, I had a goitre, ultrasound and bloods done (benign and bloods normal thyroid function). I have trouble breathing and eating food is a pain too. The follow up from my ultrasound said that he won't need to see me again and will have to live with my symptoms. Not very helpful. So last week I complained to my doctor and she's referred me to have a gastroscopy, because of the food being stuck going down and restricted breathing. Not sure what's going to happen I'm trying to get the nodules removed but will have to keep on.

Sorry your post was a while ago, I just wanted to know your update? Did you have surgery?.
