Embarrassing problem

For the last few months I’ve noticed my clitoris seems swollen, and now it’s more a hard lump under the ‘hood’ I had a look in the mirror and noticed there was a dot of black under the skin, got a damp cotton bud and realised it was blood..
Went to the doc about it when I just thought it was swelling and they were just like I can’t see anything and patronisingly ‘sometimes our bodies give us false signals that there’s things wrong’.

I know I need to go back but I felt awful after last time, like I was wasting their time. Also cringing at the thought of them examining my clitoris, vaginal exams don’t usually bother me but 😬 Does anyone have any idea of what this could be??

It appeared a month or so after I’ve started having lower back pain when I’m in bed at night. No idea if the two could be related.

I would go to your local sexual health clinic. I went for a clit problem because I thought they would be the fanny experts rather than the GP and they were good. They aren't just there to treat STI's.

I hope you feel better soon.

Please go back to your doctor - and please don't be embarrassed. I was at the docs this week after finding a lump on vulva - doc was very reassuring, turned out to be nothing drastic, but he was very matter of fact and also adamant that if you think something's not right to have it checked out ASAP.
