Feeling really guilty about DS's nut allergies

Found out today he is allergic to all nuts and to all fish.

I did eat the occasional mixed nuts (not peanuts though) during pregnancy & i'm now feeling guilty. Is it my fault he has these allergies?

I thought it was just peanuts to avoid but obviously it's all nuts (so I was told today).

Poor little man has got eczema too and his skin has flared up again .

It's so not your fault. The latest scientific research suggests that pregnant women who avoid nuts are more likely to have children with nut allergies-- which is why the govt have reversed their previous advice!
Either way you have absolutely nothing at all to feel guilty about, seriously!
Allergies are very common nowadays and they just don't understand why (scientists that is).

So really don't beat yourself up!

I ate nuts during pregnancy, and no allergies to nuts here......I did however have dairy (as that is nigh on impossible to avoid!), and three allergic children now, plus one very extremely allergic me, and nought to do with the food, just basic allergy tendencies meaing it could have been anything to develop an allergy too!!!!

and FWIW, if they say it is what you eat during pregnancy and breastfeeding that causes it, then why the hell aren't my kiddies allergic to sweeties as I had a craving to fruit pastills while pregnant, and also to steak!

and what about all the other food I ate hmmmmm......

stop feeling guilty please......we mums carry enough of that as it is!
