What's this on hand?

My 4 year old has a small spot appear a few days ago, it's now grown and looks sore and red. He says it's hurting him, even the skin around it and he's avoiding using his hand. Doesn't look like HF&M as only the 1 spot. Does anyone know what this is and how I can ease it?

Looks like an actual spot. Maybe try a hot compress on it

It looks like the mollescum mine had years ago. A hot bath would sometimes burst them and relieve the pressure, but you would need to make sure it was very clean afterwards as they can get infected.
