Constant ache in right calf

yoyoer · 04/11/2022 19:02

Last night I started with an achy leg, it eased after a warm shower so I just put it down to being on my feet all day.
Today it came back around lunchtime and its gradually got worse and is constant unless Ive got it raised. Can't remember spraining it or pulling a muscle at any point but that's almost what it feels like, from the outside it looks fine no redness or swelling anywhere. Im 18 weeks pregnant so wasn't sure if this is just another perk of pregnancy.

Just wondering if anyone has had similar and figured out what it was.

You should get this checked
onset of calf pain can be pregnancy related but can also be a potential blood clot
Would ring 111
keep elevated in the meantime

catchthedog · 04/11/2022 19:06

agree with above. needs checked quickly for clot.

Notanotherusername4321 · 04/11/2022 19:06

Yep get checked. Pregnancy = clot risk so while you aren’t showing the expected redness and swelling always worth getting checked.

MyFuckRationsAreDepleated · 04/11/2022 19:06

Yes, what @rubyslippers said! Call 111, need to rule out a blood clot.

endofthelinefinally · 04/11/2022 19:07

Agree with pp. You must get this checked asap.

alexdgr8 · 04/11/2022 19:09

agree with above.
don't delay.
ring 111.
let us know how you get on.
good luck.

yoyoer · 04/11/2022 19:10

Oh gosh thanks everyone, I was just going to hold out for the gp on Monday if it hadn't gone but I'll give 111 a call.

They might send you to A&E to rule out blood clot. Beware you could be there hours and hours but that's definitely a symptom. I went recently for something and they kept asking me about pain in my calves and possible blood clots.

Adeleex · 05/11/2022 14:33

Having seen your post and no update since I was wondering whether you're all OK? And if you got seen to? X

yoyoer · 05/11/2022 20:14

Sorry I meant to come back on and update earlier, thanks for checking in @Adeleex

So I ended up down at a&e until the early hours after speaking to 111. I couldn't really tell but they thought my right leg was slightly swelling by the time I was seen and the pain was still there, they scanned my leg and have said it is DVT so have given me daily injections to do at home until baby arrives. Thanks so much to everyone for your advice, I'm really glad I didn't just leave it like I was going to originally.

You're more than welcome. I'm glad you got checked and they were good with you! They're not the most pleasant injections but it's better than nothing. Hope you feel better soon xx

yoyoer · 05/11/2022 20:27

Thanks @Adeleex
No not the nicest, I had them for 6 weeks after my first pregnancy so I remember them well! But better than what could be I suppose!
