Strange contracting abdomen spasms left side

Hi,

I have been having the strangest abdomen spasms but only on the one side for quite a while. If I move in certain ways or bend down to take shoes off, sit up in the bath etc my abdomen spasms on the left side where it contracts and moves inwards. It’s very uncomfortable and I try to sit up immediately to alleviate it but sometimes it takes a few minutes to go back to normal and can leave pain for a short while afterwards.

can anyone help and has anyone experienced this?

thank you x

Update.
Saw the GP today, did a very quick and very gentle touch of abdomen.
Due to me not being in control of when this happens I couldn’t show her.
I was told there are muscles which go up stomach and muscles which go sideways so it’s probably muscle spasm 🤷‍♀️

I get this! I think it's the muscles under the ribs cramping/ spasming... no idea why but it's often when I'm bending over putting socks on. It's really painful though.

@BlueRabbitWasNaughty

thanks for your reply.

much further down from the ribs for me but could be same cause.

To be told it could be muscle spasms, but then again this is something I’ve not experienced my whole life. It’s not like a stitch.

So there is something causing this, maybe lack of a certain vitamin or whatnot. Something like this doesn’t come on without cause and effect.

Your body can’t all of a sudden make simultaneous changes and effects to the anatomy without being a cause to it.

However I guess I’ll have to go by the muscle spasms prognosis 🤷‍♀️

Hi @Fingerscrossed11 I know this is an old thread but wondering what the outcome of this was? I’m getting exactly the same thing 15 months post emcs & getting no where with the GP! Hope all resolved for you now

@PearlPoster
I think it’s gone now. I did have it for such a long time. Hasn’t happened in quite some time.
I had emergency surgery for merkles diverticulum and not sure whether this has had something to do with it.
I know from experience it does take quite some time for your muscles to repair themselves after c section as they are cut through to get to baby. I hope it gets better soon. Mine seems to have gone now (touch wood) but did take quite some time, 9 years. I feel as though it might be related to the merkles diverticulum as it hasn’t been as prevalent and now haven’t felt it in a while. Either that or that surgery has remedied any issue I had after c section with abdomen muscles. I hope that helps. X
