Hi everyone, has anyone experienced anything that looks like this before? I've attached a normal picture and one of it under the microscope. Just looking for reassurance while I wait any information will be highly appreciated

I’ve had a couple look like that (from your photos) that turned out to be seborrheic keratoses.

I had that on my face. I went to a private dermatologist who froze them off. Completely disappeared.

My mole was darker and started to look like part of it was a small blister. It was removed and came back stage 2 melanoma.

Aww no sorry to hear that. Hope you are doing well now!

I really hope it's all ok, but thank you you've just reminded me to book an appointment for a new mole that appeared on my lower leg.

I'm really moley, so it's sometimes tricky to keep track.

I was referred on the 2 week pathway for what turned out to be a seborrheic keratosis like a pp. It is very worrying but if it is anything concerning its easier to deal with if caught early.

Glad you had a good outcome 🙂 did yours look any thing like mine? I am hoping mine is something like that 🤞I have attached another pic as it looks different in different lights.

It looks like seborrhoeic keratosis to me and I don't think the blood vessels are worrying as they just look like thread veins from sun damage. You're obviously doing the right thing getting it check but try not to worry. Easier said than done I know!

Percypigmystery · 04/11/2022 06:43

Mine look just like your latest photos, OP - still have them!

CheshireSplat · 04/11/2022 06:50

Hi OP.

I was referred for a biopsy on a mole. It turned out to be precancerous (stage 0) meaning there were cancerous cells but they hadn't spread. I had a second wider biopsy to confirm this.

Mine didn't look like yours, it didn't have the trail/spreading part. It had grown significantly, perhaps 50%.

I would say as a PP has said that you will get a thorough search by a nurse or doctor looking at other moles and they may want out here checked out. So try not to worry too much about that. As an illustration, I'm having a second one checked out now.

i hope it all goes well.

The lab results usually take a couple of weeks to come back, so you won't hear anything for a while after the biopsy.

Thank you. I am trying my best not to worry but I am a always think the worst person! But joining this group has put my mind at rest a bit 😊

Thank you. Sorry to be dumb but what do you mean by trail? I hope you are doing well now and you have a good outcome off the one you are getting checked 🤞

It doesn't look too suspicious. I've had about three moles removed that dermatologist was concerned about but they turned out to be fine . I wouldn't worry too much.

Sorry, unclear wording on my part. It looks to me like there was a kind of streaking, like the tail of a comet.

Had my demo check up today.

My first one in July I was told I was high risk for skin cancer, should not leave the house in the summer without UV protective clothing, would need yearly check ups etc, would have to go back to be checked and may have to have several removed. Not bad advice and put the fear of god in me.

Went today to be told I was absolutely fine, no issues with any freckles or moles and could be discharged with no further appts but to keep an eye out in case of any sudden changes like everyone. They said as previous appt was in July some if them may have changed slightly at the time due to natural sun exposure. So that's a relief.

Good luck tomorrow o/p - let us know how you get on. My appointment is on Thursday x

Desmondo2021 · 15/11/2022 21:36

I had one that looked just like, had grown from a full stop to about a cm over a couple months and had got itchy and a bit rough feeling. I had the 2 week referral too and got an immediate all clear at the dermatologist.. it was a seborrheic keratosis. Completely harmless.

landofgiants · 15/11/2022 23:09

The second photos are clearer. It does not look too scary to me (although I'm no expert). I think it is good news that you are being seen promptly, as it is less long to worry. I've been referred for a lesion on my face which is crusting and bleeding and so far I have heard nothing! It has been frozen three times now and will not go away.
Good luck.

katelyn2007 · 16/11/2022 10:41

Thank you all for your kind words and concern. I have been for my appointment today I have seborrheic keratosis 🙂 x

Great news. Am I allowed to feel a bit smug that I diagnosed it more accurately than your GP?! 😇 😆
