Broken metatarsal

Has anyone broken their metatarsal? My dd is having foot pain, around that area. She does alot of dance, so presuming something has happened there.
How painful was it? She's not screaming in pain, just complaining it hurts.

I'm just wondering do I take her to A&E?

I broke mine. It hurt like hell and I couldn't weight bare on it at all. Only you know your DD enough to know if she's in real pain or whether it's just sore. Any doubt - take her for an X-ray.

Thanks, I'm swaying more towards she's just pulled something, as although slow she is walking ok.

I would take her ti have it checked, it could be a stress fracture which means she should not co time dancing on it whilst it's healing. I had one simply from excess walking once, it didn't show up on X-ray but the doctors agreed with the symptoms matching. It took over 6 months before I stopped feeling pain when attaching my foot.

I broke my fifth metatarsal and the pain was excruciating at first but I could walk/hobble around on it. Took me 4 days to go and get it xrayed. The pulled ligaments took the longest to heal.
