Ongoing uncomfortable bloating
Frequent loose stool
Extreme highs and lows of energy
Constantly tired

Dr already booked. Just seeing if the MN hivemind can give me any ideas.

Pregnancy?

PrunellaMcTat · 01/11/2022 06:15

Lol. Very much doubt it!

I want to ask them to test for celiacs.

Low iron, Crohns, IBS, intolerances, stress and anxiety, to name a few.

eatsleepwinerepeat · 01/11/2022 06:24

IBS or food intolerances. I'd cut out gluten as a test (don't wait for the docs appt) see if it helps and then go from there.
Good luck x

Possible crohns or colitis [inflammatory bowel disease ] When you see your GP ask for a stool test [ calprotectin test ] to be done to rule out inflammation as well as a blood test.

IBD first came to mind. Tou need to have been having gluten for coeliac tests to work though so I wouldn't cut it out

Don’t do this. If they do test for celiac and she’s not been eating gluten it, the test may not be accurate. A friend of mine was diagnosed with celiac disease but she had a lot of symptoms.

It could be anything OP. Iron deficiency, vit d deficiency, ibs, anxiety, period issues, food intolerances, poor diet or loads of other things.

Best to wait to see a doctor.

Stress and anxiety are yes and yes but we both feel there's more going on. She feels absolutely brought to her knees by two days of school when really there's no reason for her to be. Everything is going well but she's weepy and exhausted. She takes iron and vit B supplements.

You're right of course. Will just have to wait and see what the doc says.

Won't be cutting out gluten. I have noticed though that her bloatiest days do not correlate with high-gluten meals the night before. example - today was dreadful but dinner last night was 0-gluten. She's not noticeably worse after pasta or bread I don't think. I'm particularly aware as I eat gluten-free myself. Never tested for celiacs because I can't face having to eat gluten again in order to test.

Pms? Ovulation symptoms? There’s another thread where someone’s reporting similar.

I get similar during my cycle. Hormones changing etc. this started after I had dd but got worse after I had covid in March.

emmathedilemma · 01/11/2022 15:34

Keep a food diary and symptom log, that might help to identify food intolerances.
