High grade cell changes

Hi,

I had a smear recently which came back as high risk hpv with borderline changes. I had my colposcopy today and she took two biopsies and said it looked like high grade changes, CIN2 or 3, and that I would probably have to have the LLETZ procedure.

I get the results back of the biopsies in 4 weeks.

Has anyone else had this experience?

Thank you - so glad to hear it was ok for you!

I’m not super worried about it but it’s the idea of having more procedures I don’t like. I’m not sure I want children in the future but thats good to know!

@Pleaseaddcaffine you’ll be fine I’m sure! Even though the doctor said mine looked like CIN 3 most likely, it’s an incredibly low risk of it actually being cancer (she said “practically nil”) and it’s a slow growing cancer anyway that is often caught early though the screening process and therefore treated surgically and successfully. Not all the time of course but the odds are good if you go to screenings regularly.

Hi sorry to jump on the post almost a year later. I have had HPV in my last 3 smears, the last 2 no cell changes, this time though it's High risk HPV and High grade cell changes. Just wanted to ask what your outcome was after if you don't mind me asking. Looking for something or anything to put my mind at rest tgatvi haven't goy cancer and going to die. I suffer terrible health anxiety and this has really put me over the edge. Thanks. X
