Had over active thyroid 2 yrs ago and was on carbimazole then swapped to ptu due to pregnancy. It levelled out and now since having my baby is up again

Spent the day in a&e after having heart palpitations yesterday and they said my thyroid is 24 and o.oo8

I was on 5mg carbimazole where my consultant put me on that dosage a month ago when my thyroid was classed as sub clinical but how it's got worse a£e doctor upped it up 30mg

Now awaiting call from consultant to see if that's the right dosage for me as they said it the max they can do today
Have been given some beta blockers also

Symptoms :
Blurred vision
Achey body
Only and heart palps from yesterday
But been feeling so rubbish and down for weeks

Anyone tell me how long medication will take to kick in and make me feel better? Xx

It can take a while, especially as it takes time to find the right dose for your needs, but hang in there x

Hey OP, I know this was a while ago, but how did you get on? Are you feeling better now?
