Viral sinus with no typical sinus symptoms

I have a bit of anxiety regarding this, I've had an awful headache and severe pain behind both eyes since Saturday, otc meds don't help and I'm trying to paddle on and just ignore it but the health anxiety in me is telling me this is sinister, I spoke to a doctor over the phone and they said it sounds like a viral sinus infection but I don't have typical sinus symptoms accept pain in face (mainly eyes) not snot or a cold but do have post nasal drip - I'm worried this isn't a sinus issue as I literally only have a bad headache and pain behind the eyes, has anyone else had something like this? Sorry for the double post but I've had this since Saturday with no success on treating this pain and I'm just really worrying

It sounds like a sinus issue to me. Could it be a sinus infection needing anti-biotics? When you say 'sinister' what do you mean?

I'm not sure as when I spoke to doctor, they said if needed anti biotics I would have a temperature and swelling in my face, they also said because it doesn't get worse bending over it is likely viral. When I say sinister, I have googled and it's come up with sinus thrombosis, which has terrified me as it says main symptoms is severe pain behind eyes which I have

Can you get a second appointment with a different GP?

I'm currently on holiday so I'm in a different city, I did initially try and contact 111 but they referred me back to my own doctor, I don't want to keep calling as they know I have health anxiety, I literally get sick a lot and call the doctors a lot, so I'm hoping I'm just panicking and this is what they say it is :/

I had this recently, it was horrible. I had the head/eye ache that came on every morning at about 11 weirdly and also around one eye the skin was tender and puffy. I had a course of antibiotics and it gradually went away, but I was initially pretty worried as I didn't have any of the typical symptoms of sinusitis and had only had a very mild cold before.

Thank you, this is also what I'm wondering whether they should have given anti biotics but she said because I have no temp anti biotics would not be needed and I just need to purchase a nasal spray, but surely otc pain killers would at least ease this pain a bit! It's so horrific I can't even function

I was given a steroid nose spray too. The headache was horrific, never had anything like it. No pressure though, the whole thing was really odd.

Strangely enough I just received a phone call from 111 out of hours from two days ago... very odd but I took advantage and explained my symptoms again and they asked if I have had my blood pressure took recently to which I said no and they said maybe it could be high blood pressure, it just gets worse 😩😩😩😩😩 she also said doesn't sound like an infection, really odd but said nothing she can advise unless I want to go to an urgent treatment centre

Mine started on a Wednesday and I didn't test positive until the following Tuesday. Whether I had something else first or it's that covid tests aren't very good I don't know. But either way it went away in the end and wasn't anything serious.

Thank you, I'm wondering if it is eye strain now that resembles sinus, I work 12 hour shifts 4 days a week infront of a laptop
