Will it show on blood tests?

Evening ladies.

I've been having stomach issues, ive been diagnosed with IBS since my early teens but something different is definitely going on atm. I spoke to GP who organised a stool sample and blood tests, looking at possible celiac or colitis and inflammation

however, since seeing the GP i strongly believe it may be gallstones. I will speak to her again next week but the nurse who took my blood said they weren't looking at liver function so i was wondering, if i do have gallstones will this be picked up as inflammation/infection or will bloods come back clear and I'll have to ask for more bloods looking at liver function?

Have you checked your ovaries? Ask for an ultrasound. Ovarian cysts can show up as digestive issues

Thank you, I think I will look further into that at some point as my periods have changed of late to but my main concern atm is some of the worst pain in my life right high up, above my belly button. It was hard to identify exactly what it was but at the weekend I was up at 2am with the most horrendous pain for 3hrs, nothing would touch it and it eventually went away on its own.

It started a while ago coming and going and I'd being having a bad bout of IBS so figured it was linked. It's only more recently I've realised when I get this high up pain it's not relieved by going to the toilet and it's definitely it's own this. Also have family history of gallstones

Just wanted to know if gallstones would show as inflammation on bloods

Have you had any problems with your kidneys? I had a kidney infection and had awful pain at night but it radiated upwards and felt like awful gastric pain upwards underneath my ribs. Only thing that made me think that was the timing you mentioned, it would wake me up like clockwork every night around that time then after 3 hours or so it would wear off only to return the next night.x

I don't think gallstones would show up as inflammation maybe the gallbladder if it were inflamed but only an US I'd assume could rule out gallstones?

Thanks for the responses, GP called me back today, I don't quite understand the terminology but she said the ovarian marker flagged up high so I need an ultrasound and she said they'll check my gallbladder while they're on

Ask them to test for h pylori with your stool test? I was positive for this with very similar sounding pain and the antibiotics cleared it up. They were very strong though and lots of side effects! Good luck 👍
