help for tiredness after lunch

I have good energy in the morning , and sometimes later evening. However after lunch I always feel very tired so much so concentration is difficult and will to get things done is a struggle. I think if i had the time for it and it was quiet enough i could nearly sleep in the afternoon. It is even on days off and I actually now think to myself I will do this and that in the morning because I will have more energy for it. Does anyone have this and how did you overcome it?

I found keeping carbs to minimum at lunchtime helps.

I used to get an awful mid-afternoon slump when I ate pasta salad or a sandwich or anything full of carbs. Now I eat protein and salad and it doesn't happen.

I’m very susceptible to a slump. I tend to have a small lunch and plenty of protein and not too carby.

Definitely steer clear of anything sugary.

I steer clear of carbs at lunchtime (for the most part!) as I too am prone to the post lunch slump! I have something quite light and take a late lunch, go for a walk too.

I have this too. I just let myself snooze if I get a chance. I don't often get the chance at work so that is fine, but it is one of the reasons I rarely wfh. Otherwise I shut my eyes for 40mins and carry on. I tend to also kip on a weekend given half a chance. I enjoy it and it doesn't wreck the rest of the day or my nights sleep

Another one for carbs of the pasta/rice/sandwiches/spud variety as a slump-inducing lunch.

When teaching I had a salad and fruit for just this reason.
