Mucus in throat

Has anyone any tips for me, please? I have a horrible combination of post nasal drip and acid reflux, and constant mucus-y throat which can make me cough/always clearing my throat. I’m on antihistamines, a steroid nasal spray, and Omeprazole on prescription, but it seems to have got a lot worse since the weather got colder. (I’m in Scotland so it is pretty chilly!)

I don’t feel unwell at all, it’s just annoying - and can be worse at night. I don’t have any breathlessness or wheezing, so I am certain it is nothing to do with my chest. Mucus is clear if I blow my nose/cough it up.

No GP has seen me although this has been going on forever, so I do feel vaguely paranoid it’s something sinister. (Surely I would feel unwell if it was though?) I rang for an appointment a few weeks back but again it is on the phone and the first slot was mid November so quite a long wait.

Can anyone relate or help me out?

Have you tried cutting down dairy? It’s really helped my mucus issues.

@Passthecake30 funnily enough I bought dairy free “milk” today to see if that helps. I am not a massive dairy eater, skimmed milk in tea is the main thing really, although I do love cheese. I don’t eat chocolate, and don’t like milky drinks, but I know eg ice cream makes me really mucus-y. No cheese would be a blow!

@Judystilldreamsofhorses I was shockingly phlegmy, I sounded awful hacking it up (sorry!) and it often caught as I spoke. I now have soya milk in my cereal, I’ve reduced cheese but still have a sprinkle over pasta, and have the occasional bowl of ice cream. I know it works as when I have a bit of a cheese binge I regret it!

@Passthecake30 we actually have a cheese night thing on Saturday but I’m going in on dairy free after that. I do like porridge at this time of year but I guess I can do almond milk in that.

I get the catching as I speak thing too, it is horrible. My nose just always feels “full” regardless of medication too.
