Itch somewhere internal behind tailbone! What could it be?

Embarrassing, but I have an intense itch somewhere I cannot reach. It feels like it's somewhere behind my tailbone and up my lower back. Has anyone else had anything like this? What could cause it? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

Threadworms? Piles? Both itch 'internally'

ooooh, i've had this! i often get the same itch deep inside my upper thigh too. It didnt occur to me that it might be something specific but it's really frustrating. I'll watch your thread with interest!

Thanks for the replies. I tried germoloids for piles but that didn't work. Not surprising as I have no pain just an itch. Also, doesn't seem like threadworms as that is supposed to be worse in the evening or early morning. For me it is constant. Driving me nuts. Any other ideas? Or, am I goign to have to go to the doctor's about this...

How common is this? Itchy bottom anyone?
