Mildly concerning lump…

I hope it’s ok to post this, it’s been bothering me a bit and I’m not sure what to do about it.

I’ve got a small lump in my armpit. It’s not a spot or anything like that, it’s quite a hard lump under the skin. It’s not painful, it’s just there - I first noticed it about a month ago. I’m not sure what level of concern I should have about this, my GPs are completely swamped. Is this a ‘get it checked out’ situation?

Yes.

Absolutely-go get it checked out. An important part of a Gp's job is to reassure you when everything is ok but to be there when it isn't.

They'll be glad to see you (and hopefully reassure you)

Of course it is.

Chances are it’s nothing, but they need to check. Your GP would far rather that than a lot of expensive, distressing and unnecessary treatment in 18 months in the unlikely event it turns out to be something.
