Breathless at night

Over the last few months, I’ve had some episodes where I’m breathless at night. I’m not particularly wheezy - just find it a bit of an effort to breathe, and it wakes me up and keeps me awake. I’m not asthmatic, and it happens sporadically, with no obvious cause. I did go to the doctor but, as it was during the day, my breathing was fine. He gave me a brown inhaler, but I don’t particularly want to use it twice a day, when it only happens occasionally, and I don’t know the cause.

Just wondered if anyone had anything similar?

Not someone here can even guess at. Your GP will know your age, medical history, heart history, lung history, smoking history, weight and so on.
Go back to the GP or do the treatment he has given you.

Have you tried changing your sleeping position? I find this is an issue sometimes when I lay on my side.
