High risk HPV and borderline cell changes

I recently had the results back from my smear test and I have high risk HPV and borderline cell changes.

I had my first smear when I was nearly 25 and it was clear. I’m now 28.

I’m not really worried about it because everything I have read is very reassuring, but it’s playing on my mind a tiny bit. I have a colposcopy on the 31st.

Has anyone else had this and what was the outcome?

Hi, I’ve just had the same results back . How did your colposcopy go? Have you had further treatment. I’m quite worried 😞

I had this aged 35 a year after the birth of my 3rd child. Never had a problem with a smear and first I knew was the colscopy clinic calling me to make an appointment - hadn't even had the letter at that point!

The procedure itself wasn't fun but the 3 clinicians were lovely. I had another smear I think it was like 3 months later, which came back HPV clear and normal.

I'm having my next routine smear this year and I'm going to be really worried.

Ironically I now assist with smears in my job and the vast majority are normal.

I actually had hpv and my abnormal cells would go up and down over a 5 year period, I was only 17 can I add! Was having yearly smears, had a couple.of biopsies which cut away the cells then finally got the all clear about 4 years ago. I can't advise but try not to worry yourself sick as long as you're attending your appointments etc then be reassured things are usually okay.Sorry you're having to endure this, it's not nice x
