Bad reaction to Nytol - anxiety, skittishness, paranoia

I've used Nytol before and stopped as I always feel spaced out the next day.

However, I've been sleeping really badly lately, so took one just so I could nod off before 3am, however I'm having a really bad reaction - next day I felt spaced out as usual, but also very anxious and highly strung, low-level paranoia, difficulty concentrating, slightly hyper thinking patterns etc.

Obviously I'm not going to take anymore, but reading online these don't appear to be particularly common side-effects of the drug (active ingredient is diphenhydramine, which is mainly an antihistamine used for hayfever, rashes etc.)

Anyone else ever had this reaction?

No, but I had horrible side effects within about 30 mins of taking it

jerking movements, restless legs, a weird trippy feeling not in a good way.

I don't remember if it's on the leaflet as possible side effects, but never again!

I don't remember what all my symptoms were but I've reacted very badly to all supplements like this and so I don't take any of them any more. The trouble is that the ingredients they use to make supplements (because it's unregulated) are usually sub standard and low quality.

It's not a supplement but presume you mean anything non prescription.

some people get awful side effects from prescription sleepers. I flipping love them but they are hard to get!

Yes sorry wasn't thinking clearly (v. sleep deprived) it's not a supplement but it's manufactured in the same unregulated way
