Hi everyone need a bit of advice please if possible. I got bitten on my face and it looked infected - decided to brave it and have been drinking lots of fluids , taking ibuprofen etc and it’s gone down and looks so much better. I have noticed a gland in my neck has swollen up perhaps due to the infection I don’t know.

has anyone had glands swell up due to bites/acne spots?
thanks :)

What or whom bit you? Could be infected and therefore may need antibiotics

Nurse here. Bitten by what?

Swollen glands are a sign of infection, I would go to a walk in centre.

Go to your local pharmacy and ask to speak to the pharmacist. They will tell you whether something OTC will do or whether they think you need a GP appointment.

Hi really not sure but it’s quite large it’s definitely gone down and I feel loads better might give the doctors a quick ring and make a telephone appointment for advice . Thanks everyone for your replies x

I'd not ring the GP if it looks like it's resolving realistically what will they say? Observe. If it worsens and/or you develop a temperature or vomit then seek advice/antibiotics
