Ds (3) was sick in the night on Wednesday night but it was after a long bout of coughing and I though that was the cause. On Thursday he was fine in the morning, ate a normal breakfast and normal snacks mid-morning. At lunch time when his dinner was out in front of him he threw up big time, absolutely loads of it. He didn't feel sick before and was absolutely fine straight after. He had some toast at tea and it stayed down. On Friday he ate a normal breakfast but wasn't very hungry through out the day so had little and often. He was fine. Today he has been our normal smiley boy, if a little tired. He has had normal meals all day and eaten well. At teatime tonight half way through his tea he declared he didn't feel well and then was very, very sick everywhere again. Once again, he is bouncing around striaght after. What is this all about and does anyone have any idea what I should do about it?

I would say that he has a lingering tummy bug.

I am not a doctor though. If I were you, I'd make an appointment with the GP to get him checked out and rule out anything else.

You may well find out, that by the time you get an appointment, he will be 100% well again.

Oh, I missed the coughing. If he has a lot of phlegm, then it's very possible that this is being swallowed and irritating his tummy. I know that my kids often vomit if they are really snotty or have wet coughs.

My ds who's 4 did this recently, on and off for a week. Sometimes he would eat fine then sometimes very very sick. I put it down to a tummy bug as well and within a couple of weeks he was completely back to normal. Even when my ds is ill, he still bounces around and is very happy!

Also got a DS here who has been sick on and off all week.

Seems there is a few tummy bugs going round at the moment.

Well I think we've got to the bottom of it. Ds has been ill on and off for 2 weeks then today - chicken pox! It explains it all!
