Mammogram and BF

I was referred for a mammogram after I developed a lump in pregnancy. The appointment was when baby was a few weeks old and they couldn't get a clear picture because of all the milk (milk was spraying everywhere as they were doing it, so my breasts were really, really full).

They thought it looked fine but said I could come back once I finished BF. They asked how long I planned to BF for and I said a year.

Baby is now 13 months and I have just realised the appointment is next week but I am still BF. Baby only feeds twice a day though so I don't know if it will be OK for them to get a clear picture or if I should postpone again?

The lump has disappeared since so I am not particularly worried but I still want to give myself the best chance of a clear mammogram as I lost my mum to breast cancer, and she wasn't much older than me when diagnosed.

Has anyone had a successful mammogram while BF?

I would just go and ask when you are there.
