Asthma, colds and COVID

Hi I hope it's ok to ask this here. I caught COVID for the first time in the summer. I have generally only got seasonal asthma but COVID saw it go from seasonal to full time.

I caught a cold about 6 weeks ago and my breathing hasn't recovered. I've slowly been ramped up the inhalers and am on Symbicort200 4 puffs a day and also double it up as a reliever with no relief.

How long do I give it before ringing the Dr and saying this isn't working? I've had a chest x-ray and am waiting on the results but I feel exhausted all the time now.

Not sure why I wrote this other than to see if anyone else is in the same boat?

Ring gp in morning and get an appointment with them or asthma nurse ( if you have one). Have you been monitoring your peak flow ?. Not a health professional (but a long term chronic asthma sufferer) but it sounds like you need a course if steroids .

My husband has asthma and can't shake his post covid cough. The doctors have given him a course of antibiotics and steroids to see if that helps and he's got to ring back if it doesn't. He finishes them tomorrow and he's still coughing, but not quite as badly. Nightmare.
