Relief from recurring uti / cystitis

I've suffered with uti since I started having relationships. I'd go to the doctors with a urine sample, they would tell me I have an infection, prescribe me antibiotics and they done nothing! A week later I'd still be in pain. I managed to get it under control with D Mannose, pure cranberry, Cystitis relief sachets, cleaning the area, wipe front to back, the whole lot, I feel I've exhausted every avenue and still keep getting uti after uti.

I'm at the stage where any type of antibiotics just aren't working, nothing is working. I'm a healthy eater, I drink plenty fluids & exercise. I'm not sure what to do anymore and neither are the doctors. I've also had a cystoscopy and they found nothing. I can't seem to live a normal life without discomfort in my bladder, burning and nipping and constantly needing to pee.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Hi I have a condition called interstitial cystitis and what you are explaining sounds very much like that. I had to go private to get a diagnosis and my cystoscopy was the same showed nothing. I now get bi weekly treatment via a catheter and am on alot of medication and finally have a life again. Right now I am dealing with a bad uti after having my treatment yesterday 😖

I used to get this all the time and it was caused by sex with my ex husband. I used to feel i had to do this and was always really ill afterwards and ended up fearing I had damaged my kidneys. It was an awful way to live. He didn't care. The relate counsellor we went to was horrified by his attitude. I have had sex since then which didn't do that but then got caught out again when sex was too frequent on holiday - nearly ended up at A&E I was so ill. The antibiotics which turn everything yellow worked really well and quite quickly - can't remember the name. Post-menopause it is painful generally and I'm giving it all a miss from now on! Sylk and Yes Yes were helpful. Another item to avoid is normal toilet paper which disintegrates and gets trapped in your 'folds' - use Panda Bamboo instead. Some people are also allergic to condoms.

How much D mannose are you taking? I take 1500mg as a maintenance dose & if I feel an infection coming, I up it to 1500mg 3 times a day. Have you tried Azo urinary pain relief tablets? They work really well, but turn your wee bright orange, you can buy them on Ebay or Amazon, one tip, only wear black knickers while using them as the orange stains refuse to wash out. Are you perimenopausal? It may help to ask your GP for vaginal oestrogen cream, it does help.
