Plenvu pre Colonoscopy ....

Erk. I am due a Colonoscopy (after a positive stool sample) next Sun.
I've been given Plenvu to take from Sat lunchtime.
I had bariatric surgery 5 years ago so I have to be careful with food / blood sugars etc. Does anyone know what Plenvu effects are (I appreciate it's meant to clear your bowel out so they can see easily). I did call the unit to ask. They said 'oh, it'll be fine' but I wasnt very reassured...

also, does anyone know what sedation I can ask for ?
As a survivor of CSA I am not looking forward to this.
I appreciate its a medical procedure & its now but it might be quite tough.

I think you need to contact them again and ask them to ask one of the gastro consultants. It’s a big volume of liquid you need to take mixed with the prep, plus extra on top to keep hydrated. There are other preps available that have a lower volume that might be better for a person who’s had bariatric surgery.

(name change fail, but ...)
I contacted them. They won't give me a different prep. Just told me to 'sip more slowly & have someone around in case you are ill'. I also asked what sedation they offer (as prev CSA so this won't be much fun). I was told: 'adequate'. (snappishly too). 'I'll put it in your notes but as its a weekend procedure it will be locums so you'll need to remind them'. Ah well soon be over.
