HFMD? Or something else? Mouth ulcers

Hi

Looking for others experiences with hand foot and mouth - did your kids always get sores on feet/hands as well as mouth?

My DD had ulcers in her mouth this week and my DS followed with the same a cpl of days later. Neither has any other symptom other than a very sore mouth full of ulcers. Does this sound like hfmd or something else? Also any tips on helping sooth the pain? My DS who is 3 is really struggling with the discomfort.

Tia

If fever too I'd say primary infection with herpes (cold sores). Very common

No neither of them have had a fever, both have been a little warmer then usual but no proper fever. Asked a pharmacist today whether it could be herpes and he said that would be really painful... which i said it was! They're both really struggling. Best he suggested was bonjela which I don't find does much.
