Sausage shaped lump right side of abdomen

Milliegirl25 · 07/10/2022 12:17

It feels like a long hard tube or sausage. Not sure if it's a tumor or my colon, as I'm quite skinny.
Had an upper abdominal ultrasound which was normal, also an internal pelvic ultrasound for a reproductive issue and that was normal. Waiting to get a scan of my bowels.

It feels like a tube or long sausage and changes size depending on my position. I have a smaller version of it on my left side but defiantly not prominent like the right side.

I'm 29. I'm convinced it s a tjmor and this is it for me. :(

Kindly, this isn’t the place to ask. Book a GP appointment. Statistically, most likely to be nothing ominous but check it out for peace of mind.

Hernia?

Lentil63 · 07/10/2022 12:20

I had this, cared me witless but turned out to be a harmless fatty mass. If you’re skinny then it will be more easily felt. You should get it checked out though, mine was diagnosed via ultrasound.

Get medical advice for sure, but could it be an impacted colon? (Basically dried, stuck poo) My husband had very similar and had to take laxido a few times a day as well as senekot but it shifted gradually. Apparently, bananas are the worst for causing this. Good luck and don’t panic, just get it checked!

Walkacrossthesand · 07/10/2022 12:28

Most likely your colon, it goes up one side & down the other and is sausage shaped when 'full'. Scan will show this 🤞

monkeyupsidedown · 07/10/2022 13:12

It could be a tumor, or not.
It could be benign, or not.
It could be treatable, or not.

Nowadays the large majority of people that need cancer treatment, survive. It's not automatically the death sentence it once was.

It could also be poop. Just saying.

Breathe, it either is or isn't but the chances are really on your side here.

Likely poo in your colon. Make an appointment with your GP - you need to be examined

Luncheonmeatsandwich · 10/10/2022 21:23

Have you made am appointment OP?

I made a phone appointment. Dr told me it was my ascending colon and said because I wasn't a Dr I wasn't qualified to diagnose myself. She was really rude and made me feel like my concern was a waste of time. I kept suggesting I wanted another scan and told me I will have to come in to be examined first. I'm seeing a different Dr in person tomorrow for an examination. I'm terrified and exhausted by this health anxiety.

I have all the same symptoms and frustrated as keep having to go back to the drs but no help . @Milliegirl25 how are things now? Did you find out what it is?

Milliegirl25 · 12/01/2023 22:47

I got an internal pelvic scan and nothing was seen. I'm hoping it's just my ascending colon I can feel as I'm quite thin.
