sounds weird i know but he's sort of blinking more than usual in a kind of slow motion (if you can imagine it)

he has been really poorly with flu up until tuesday so i thought it was tiredness from that but he's had loads of sleep now and is jumping around.

when you blink your eyes shut for a sec, well his look kind of dopey and shut for longer but he doesn't seem to be aware of it.

please give me some feedback i feel worried

don't know cheery.

any other symptoms, apart from flu receding?

is he still taking any medication?

not a doc by the way...just thinking of the questions I would ask in the same circs.

is he well otherwise...eating etc...?

cheeryface · 25/01/2008 14:21

he was really really poorly with the flu friday until tuesday and then he started to gradually eat again.

he is taking antibiotics which he's had before and although he's still looking washed out and has a cough he's none stop wanting to play stuff with me.

He's still off school as i wanted to make sure he was over it properly.

he's 8 btw

Ask him if his eyes are sore. I frequently get conjunctivitis when I have a virus and find myself blinking slowly to keep my eyes moist and pain free. If in doubt, check it out with the dr.

dolally · 25/01/2008 14:33

I wouldn't worry too much if he's eating/playing etc..

I would suspect a slight medication side-effect...even if he's had them before and you haven't seen this blinking. The dose could be different this time round...or the fact that he's not been eating so more of it is absorbed faster. Gawd knows...I haven't a clue what i'm talking about- just gut feeling!

Hopefully someone will come on who actually knows what they're talking about!

dolally · 25/01/2008 14:34

Remember to keep him drinking loads!!!

cheeryface · 25/01/2008 14:41

i have asked him, he says stop going on and theres nothing wrong with them lol

looks like he's falling asleep kind of
dozy looking

i hope it's not any complication of influenza or something

cheeryface · 25/01/2008 15:00

surprised to hear he's still the same cheery, unless he's still on the anti-biots and that's what's doing it.

Will check this thread to see if you do discover what it is/was!!

Some people with a cold get an inflammation of the conjunctiva on the inner eyelids. It should go away by itself but Opticrom drops may help if it doesn't.
