So looking for some sort of answers (reassurance) 😩
So lately I've been having a bit of bum pain 🤷🏻‍♀️ only way to describe it really, it feels like I need to do a number 2 but I don't (well I think I don't) also feels slightly in my coxis bone so not sure if it's that! Tbh I'm not really sure what it is. Could it be constipation 🤷🏻‍♀️ piles 🤷🏻‍♀️ I'm not really sure.
All my stools seem to be pretty normal, no blood or belly pain. I suffer with Health anxiety as it is so whenever I get any slight thing I panic and think the worst and obsess over it so not sure if that's making it worse but if anyone has experienced this please could u let me know ( I do have a doc app on Tuesday ) but PLEASE no worse case scenario answers as will send me into a totoal panic 😩😥

Is it a sharp sort of stabbing pain? It could be proctalgia fugax if so and is harmless but painful? Have a Google and see if the symptoms of PF make sense maybe

I would say it's incredibly likely to be a) nothing very much and goes away by itself b) something like constipation or piles like you say. How about a week or so of upping water intake, prune juice, extra insoluble fibre, and feet up on a little stool while you poop (helps empty the bowel more effectively). If none of that makes any difference then book a gp appointment to see if there's any piles or anything that could be causing the discomfort.

Namenic · 30/09/2022 16:26

I think seeing a gp about it is a good idea.

Thanks for the replies so far, I wouldn't even say it's a pain it's more uncomfortable as feels like something is there (like I need to poop) but occasionally I do get a sharp pain. I am thinking maybe piles as does match some symptoms apart from the blood 🤷🏻‍♀️ hopefully docs can have a check Tuesday just wanted to see if anyone else experienced this

Hi op. I have suffered on and off with health anxiety too and really do feel for you as i know how truly awful it is.
I have had various pains in my bum before and feared the worst too. How long have you had it for? It's good that there's no blood or changes to your poo. It could just be muscle spasms or maybe a pile? Piles can bleed though. My pains sounded similar but would come on really suddenly, wake me up in the night and I'd be in a lot of pain for a few hours then it would go. I never checked it out but doesn't happen often. Hope your symptoms ease for you over the weekend whilst you wait for your gp appointment.

Health anxiety is awful and as soon as I get anything I'm straight into panic thinking the worst and sometimes I think that really doesn't help as can make u think symptoms are worse! 🤦🏻‍♀️

Bobbylola123 · 05/02/2023 20:28

@Bellybutton88 mine lasted months so I went docs got examined and she said looked liked a tear so she prescribed some cream which I used and it's now gone! So I can only assume the doc was right. Hope u get yours sorted

Bellybutton88 · 10/03/2023 14:07

@Bobbylola123 do you remember the cream the doc prescribed for you ?

Bobbylola123 · 10/03/2023 16:49

Is it actually in your actual bum, or further up? I had all sorts of pain and discomfort when I had a diverticulitis flare up which was also/or caused a bowel infection. Didnt know I had diverticulitis but they diagnosed this at the hospital

Bellybutton88 · 10/03/2023 22:16

Yeh still getting pain, feels like its on the inside rim and sometimes feels like i need to poo when i don't. Had an MRI done just waiting for results now before a flexible sigdomoscopy
