I had laparoscopic surgery 10 days ago and my belly button wound looks like this, I went to the GP two days ago who said it’s not infected so puss must be normal ?

That's just weeping as part of the healing process. Have you been told to bathe with salt water, or does it have to stay dry?

Oh good thank you !! I can wash with cool boiled water x

That’s not pus, it’s exudate and it’s a normal
part of the healing process. Based on this photo alone, it does not appear infected.

Sorry, it’s not exudate, I meant transudate 🤦🏼‍♀️

Hi Agree with others just needs a good clean. Belly buttons always look unpleasant as they have lots of crevices.

@Lulu45677 Hi! How long did it take your belly button to heal? I too am 9/10 days in and mine is also weeping yellow along the join. A nurse has said it’s not infected but at this rate I’m worried it’s never going to heal! Hope you’re doing ok.

It's OK, I had similar after 15 days. Something also sort of fell out of my belly button...weirr slab of scabby tissue...eugh. Sat in A&E for hours as GP couldn't be bothered...and it was OK. All healing and the hospital confirmed it. Just make sure its clean and dry...leave it alone! 😊
